Communicating with Clients: Etiquette and Tips

1. Keep it Professional: Remember, this is your workplace. Stay professional and courteous at all times. Treat your client with respect and approach each communication with a positive, problem-solving attitude.

2. Clear and Concise Communication: Ensure that your messages are clear and to the point. Avoid excessive jargon and make sure your instructions or inquiries are easy to understand.

3. Use the Built-in Chat System: All communications regarding the order should ideally be conducted through the built-in chat in the «Work Progress» section. This helps keep a record of all your conversations, which can be beneficial in case of any disputes.

4. Update on Progress Regularly: Keeping the client updated about the progress of the work builds trust and a sense of security. Provide regular updates and share any milestones achieved.

5. Keep Records of Outside Communication: If you communicate with the client through a third-party application, make sure to bring important agreements or discussions back to the built-in chat on SwapLance. Ask your client to confirm such agreements in the built-in chat system too.

6. Consultation and Problem-solving: If a problem or confusion arises, consult with your client immediately. Discussing the issues at hand can lead to quick resolutions and prevents future misunderstandings.

7. Be Respectful of Timezones: Be mindful of your client's timezone. Send messages at appropriate times and respect their off-hours.

8. Document Everything: A key part of effective communication is documentation. Make sure to keep a record of all your exchanges with the client.

Remember, good communication is the cornerstone of successful freelancing. It aids in understanding the client's needs, delivering quality work, and securing long-term working relationships.
