===== Project Goal =====
Norsk Guardian is a mobile app designed to monitor the battery charge of Norsk's original lithium-ion batteries for open water, ice fishing, and kayaking. The app helps users avoid critical situations at sea due to battery problems by allowing them to monitor the battery temperature, voltage, current charge, and other crucial parameters. It analyzes these indicators and sends a warning to the user in case of significant deviations from the norm, which may lead to a short circuit.
The primary technical challenge for the Stormotion team was to ensure instant data exchange between the battery and the phone, and configure the system to understand when the indicators meant possible problems and needed to warn the user about possible problems with the batteries before they appeared.
The app needed to be developed using the React Native framework and should include a BLE module to facilitate data transfer via Bluetooth.
===== Solution =====
The development of the Norsk Guardian app involved several key stages, from wireframing to QA & release.
During the Discovery stage, the Stormotion team developed a BLE module to facilitate the connection and data transfer via Bluetooth between the battery and the phone. The React Native framework was used to create the app.
Seven members of the Stormotion team, including three developers, one QA engineer, two UI/UX designers, and a project manager, worked on the project for approximately 30 weeks.
The design of the app developed by the UX/UI designers was both minimalist and functional. To ensure that the app was user-centric, the team implemented several smooth animations to make it more eye-pleasing.
To minimize the possibility of battery failure on the water, Stormotion set up a flawless communication system between the battery and the app. Norsk provided models of their batteries so that Stormotion could develop and test all the features of the application directly.
The final product fully met our expectations, keeping it user-centric while maintaining the balance between both parties involved – employees and employers.
